‘Fashion is just another accessory for someone with great style’

Tallinn Fashion Week 2016 day 2

Day two started off with more ethnic vibe designers and wasn’t really my cup of tea, but hey, older sophisticated people also need their designer fix. And some of the collections we saw were perfect for presidential events.

The first designer, Anu Hint, let’s just say it wasn’t really exciting for my taste. I did like the use of fabric that’s appropriate for the colder time and really brings out the ethnic vibes. Most of the pieces were quite simple and didn’t say much. It was all in dark shades and styled with black leggings and converse like sneakers.

Tallinn Fashion Week Day 2

Katre Arula was a little more interesting than Anu Hint with her designs, however it did feel like “little house on the prairie” where your grandma takes down a curtain or table sheet, makes a dress out of it and adds some embroidery to it. I also felt like all the dresses had the exact same design. Some fabrics were really thin and see through. Also the position of some of the sheer panels were really misplaced. Like right on the chest where the bra showed in an awkward way or on the thigh really high where you can see the underwear or piece of your bum. I did like that fact that the designer tried to cooperate more modern elements like pockets and fabrics like denim and embroidery to her designs.

Tallinn Fashion Week Day 2

Iris Janvier got plus points with her color palette especially the army green and navy blue tones. I loved the use of materials in her pieces such as sheer leggings and tops with sparkle designs. I really loved few dresses and coats that were really nice and what I would wear and style up appropriately. And I did like the matching handcuffs that gave some what spark and edge to the look.

Tallinn Fashion Week Day 2

Piret Ilves had a really nice minimal collection in beautiful neutral tones. The material use was amazing and brought out interest in minimal pieces. I loved how minimal and clean everything was and how the models were styled in sleek buns and wearing brogues with straight cut dresses. It was simplistic yet beautiful and calming in one.

Diana Arno was the most surprising collection of the evening. I loved it! For sure one of my favorite collections that I saw at Tallinn Fashion Week and the best of the day personally. Where do I even start? The night goggles, fishnets, army boots, arm and leg protections or the makeup and hair that were out of this world and cool! This feminine collection with materials like lace and silk with added frills and fur trimmings was styled to perfection with the steampunk flavor. I was instantly in love with all the floral coats and puffer jackets. Anyhow – can I have the entire collection to my closet, please?
