Khaki for summer
Jacket – Mango
Top – H&M
Trousers – Mango
Shoes – Zara
Every fall khaki makes an appearance. You most likely immediately think of parkas and army/military styled items and that’s not a bad thing. It’s more known as an autumn/winter color, but who said that is the only suitable time for wearing khaki colored items? No one! It can look absolutely stunning for summer occasions, especially when worn for a tropical or festival environment. Take for example khaki toned bikinis or jumpsuits, long jackets, bombers and trousers. This shade (doesn’t matter if it’s khaki, green or emerald) is meant to make you look sophisticated and masculine and not only that, it also gives out the perfect relaxed and effortless vibe.
Did you know that khaki is a tone (especially in make up) that suits to any skin tone. And it is a great alternative for black and brown because of it’s lighter effect which is great for a day time? It’s like a blank canvas that can be worn head to toe, with other shades of greens and against brighter and bolder colors and works the best for classical looks when paired with neutrals.
Khaki style tips
Pair it with white and get an amazing summer look. For example, pair your white lace summer dress or wide legged trousers with a khaki jacket or top. For more girly vibes you could pair it with pink toned items as these two colors compliment each other perfectly. Say “HI” to a silky bomber jacket in olive green color (the trend item for 2016) paired with the same toned relaxed fit trousers accessorized with a D-ring belt. Get more innovative and mix it up with denim and rock one of the most hottest trend out there.
And, do you still think khaki is meant to be only worn for colder and darker days?
