We all know that transitioning from summer to autumn can be difficult. You want to be autumnal in the end of September but when it still shows 20 something degrees on your thermometer you want to take advantage of the summer clothes and the little warmth that has been left for you to enjoy. So that’s why I wrote down some easy ways how you can look autumn appropriate while still dressed for warmer days.
My first tip is to go for a darker shade of lipstick. Darker lips are usually for autumn/winter time (although I often don’t take this rule into consideration myself). The next easy step is to start wearing hats. Berets are a great option for all of you chic styled ladies as it tends to give class and sophistication and not to forget who doesn’t love that little bit of Parisian touch. My favorites are the paperboy/military inspired hats. For more edgy styled girls caps are perfect. You can also go for a fedora and for an extra touch tie a bandana around it.
Next up we have the knitwear. The way I cooperate my knits into warmer weather is to have cold shoulder detailing like this striped one with cute frill edges I’m wearing. If you are not a sweater kind of gal you can go for light layers like cardigans and one of my favorite – duster coats. Denim jackets and leather jackets are also a good option as they can still keep you warm but not boiling hot.
For bottoms think about distressed denim or shorter hemlines (stepped hem is a great way to still show some leg). Next to jeans, your second option are culottes. This huge trend of culottes is still going strong and is amazing for the transitional period like this. And there you have it, these are some of my easy tips for the transitional season.
