Earth tones
Army Jacket – Second hand
Knitted jumper – Zara
Skirt – Zara
Shoes – H&M
Guess what? The camouflage and army style is finding it’s way back to our closets. To be honest.. it has never really left in the first place, because the army jacket has always been in style. But lately it has gotten more appreciation thanks to Kanye West. Even though I’m not a big fan of Kanye West and his fashion line, I can see once again how he exactly knows how to create weird trends (trends like the ‘all nude look’ and ‘camouflage’) and make them wearable. So no wonder that camouflage with earthy tones was a big part of his season 3 collection. And as much I don’t want to admit it, I do like some of his fashion choices.
Aside from the fact that as big as the camouflage and earth tones are at the moment, we can also see the return of the a-symmetric and wrap detail pieces. This trend is one of my favorite ones to dress in. A-symmetry is such a bold statement to add to a otherwise boring piece of clothing. It gives an instant depth and interest to the look. And when you add different elements like a buckle detailing or different fabric to an a-symmetric item, then the end result is sure to be outstanding. Take for an example the skirt I’m wearing in this outfit (even though it doesn’t have visible a-symmetric lines), this skirt has it all: pleats, buckle detail, chiffon & rough fabric mix and wrap detailing. And even when presented in a earthy tone and paired with relaxing pieces like a knitted jumper it still makes a statement.
