Yes, I know, I’ve been missing in action for two whole weeks! How could that happen? Well it did… I’m sorry. But I’m back with a new post. This time we will talk about embroidery and colors. Embroidery is a trend that has been peeking out from the shadows of our grandmothers closets. Designers love this trend and it has been seen on the catwalks of Valentino and Gucci with the more traditional style. But on the opposite we have the designer Christopher Kane, who likes to mix leather with embroidery and creates outstanding pieces by doing so. For my outfit I chose two embroidery pieces : this amazing Aztec print skirt with orange sequin details and all over flower embroidered mint boxy top. I love those textured pieces and how well they blend with each other. For my vocal point of this look I went for a sporty sweater that will break up the girly embroidery look. That orange sweater with bold text is the best way to stand out. I’ve been leaning towards colorful clothes lately and orange is for sure one of my favorites to cooperate in my black and white outfits. No, it’s not because I’m becoming partly Dutch, I just feel orange needs loving too! Although orange is a tricky color to pair with other colors, I have a easy trick for all of you. This simple trick works with every color. Do the following: open up google and type in color specter and voila, the opposite color of orange on the specter is blue and that’s your perfect color to work with. I on the other hand went with mint green to compliment the orange and I personally love that combo. There you have it, a new trend, tricks to use while working with different colors and of course a welcome back party for me!
